4 Signs That You’re Not Info Dumping
Does the story continue with conflict and tension staying alive while you gradually show the reader what’s going on? That’s probably not an info dump.
Is there only a few sections where you spend 100-300 words explaining something to the reader? Assuming the book is lengthy, you’re probably not info dumping.
Was necessary backstory and information woven in 1-3 sentence bursts throughout your story? That’s likely not an info dump.
Does a character spend a paragraph or two explaining something to another character who has no previous knowledge on what’s being talked about? That’s not an info dump.
