Megan Anderson will be look for a new promotion.

The 6’0 featherweight and former title contender has fought out her last fight on her UFC contract. Megan went on to Twitch to explain the situation, confirming she has fought out her contract and her time with the organization has in fact come to an end. Also while streaming, she contiued using the age old claim that they had planned to wipe the featherweight division.

Dana was asked about the featherweight divisions future during the pre-fight press conference to which he stated that the division would stick around as long as Nunes wanted to defend the belt. Currently theres only one future featherweight bout between Felicia Spencer and newcomer Danyelle Wolf, a former 3-time USA national boxing champion at women’s welterweight.

In a mysterious turn of events, Megan has taken the twitch video down of her previously talking about her departure just mere hours after uploading it. This seems to suggest some kind of behind the scenes movement, whether that be because of the disparaging remarks towards the featherweight division or a new contract, only time with tell.

Megan finished 3-3 with the promotion, losing 2 of her first 3 fights to title contenders and former champion Felicia Spencer and Holly Holm. After the lopsided 1-2 start, Anderson amassed two straight finishes, both in the first round, catapulting her to a title shot last saturday at UFC 259 where, ultimately, she fell short.

Megan is a former Invicta champion with a dominating 4-1 record with the Invicta promotion and a total of 11-5 as a pro. She is one of the top women’s Featherweights on the planet without a doubt and is a huge prospect for anyone who’s looking to add depth to a women’s featherweight division. Bellators 145lb division and PFLs 155lb division would certainly benefit from a signing.
