Veta Arteaga vs Desiree Yanez is scheduled to take place at Bellator 257

This women’s flyweight fight was previously scheduled to take place at Bellator 250 last October. However, Veta Arteaga was forced withdraw from the contest because of a positive COVID-19 on the day of the fight.

Bellator 257 is set to take place on April 16th at the Mohegan Sun Arena, and will be aired live on Showtime.

This fight will be Yanez’s Bellator debut and the 31 year old fighter is ready for the new challenges she will be facing in Bellator. Yanez, who is currently 5-2 in MMA has gotten wins in LFA, Combate Americas, and XKO.

Arteaga is currently riding a two fight losing skid going into this contest and Is hoping to bounce back with a big win. Veta lost to Alejandra Lara via unanimous decision back in December and before that lost a title fight against Ilima-Lei Macfarlane which was stopped in the 3rd round due to a cut on Arteaga’s forehead. Before this two fight losing streak Arteaga was on a two fight winning streak defeating tough fighters Denise Kielholtz and Emily Ducote. She defeated Kielholtz via 2nd round submission at Bellator 205 and defeated Ducote at Bellator 202 via unanimous decision.

  • Vadim Nemkov (13-2-0) vs Phil Davis (22-5-0) is set for 5 rounds for the Bellator Light Heavyweight Championship and is a quarterfinals match of a Light heavyweight tournament that Bellator is having.

  • Anthony Johnson (22-6-0) vs Yoel Romero (13-5-0) is set for 5 rounds and is also part of the Light Heavyweight tournament Bellator is having.

  • Aaron Pico (7-3-0) vs Aiden Lee (9-4-0)

  • Paul Daley (42-17-2) vs Sabah Homasi (15-8-0)

  • Veta Arteaga (5-4-0) vs Desiree Yanez (5-2-0)
