Donovan Desmae Scores a Short Notice Lightweight Title Shot at Cage Warriors 121

Last December Iranian prospect Agy Sardari (13-2-0) won the vacant Cage Warriors lightweight championship at Cage Warriors 119 via split decision. This lightweight title victory has Sardari riding a 7 fight win streak that stretches back to March 2018. At Cage Warriors 121 Sardari will be looking to defend his new title for the first time.

Mehdi Ben Lakhdhar (5-0-1) was originally scheduled to face off against Agy Sardari in the Cage Warriors 121 main event, but an undisclosed injury is preventing that from happening. Luckily, Belgium’s Donovan Desmae has agreed to fill the vacancy and step in on 10 days notice to challenge for the lightweight championship.

Donovan Desmae (14-5-0) is currently on a two fight winning streak, with a first round submission finish over Tim Barnett and a second round TKO finish over Alexander Jacobsen. Desmae is looking to make it a three fight win streak and get lightweight gold wrapped around his waste in London on Friday, March 19th.

The rest of the Cage Warriors 121 card on Friday, March 19th:

  • Agy Sardari (13-2-0) vs Donovan Desmae (14-5-0) for the Cage Warriors Lightweight Championship

  • Jack Cartwright (9-0-0) vs Sylwester Miller (9-3-0) for the Cage Warriors Bantamweight Championship

  • James Webb (8-2-1) vs Matthew Bonner (8-6-1)
