UFC on ESPN 24 Weigh-ins Result in 2 Fights Being Cancelled

The UFC on ESPN 24 card has seemed as if it has been cursed by some mysterious being. Firstly, the original main event between Cory Sandhagen and TJ Dillashaw was cancelled, due to Dillashaw suffering a cut during training. Secondly, UFC veteran Diego Sanchez was cut from the UFC roster, which resulted in his highly anticipated match up with Donald Cerrone being cancelled.

Just when we thought the worst of it was over this weigh in happened and introduced the card to a whole new batch of issues. Diego Ferreira missed the 155 weight limit coming in at 160.5 pounds, Ferreira was fined 30 percent of his purse. Ryan Benoit weighed in at 129 pounds and was visibly shaking as he stepped on the scale, which resulted in commission officials ruling him out of the fight. Additionally, Brazilian heavyweight Philipe Lins reportedly became ill prior to the weigh-ins and never even made it to the scales.

Here’s what the current card looks like with results from the weigh-ins:
