UFC fight night: Edwards vs Muhammad overview

UFC vegas 21 is right around the corner. With fighters settling into hotels, completing testing, quarantines and addressing media, we took a look at how the card has shifted in the COVID era.

a recent press release by the UFC has officially confirmed two cancellations and one replacement. The Heavyweight bout between Ben Rothwell vs Philipe Lins will be rescheduled to a later date. The featherweight bout between Ricardo Ramos and Zubaira Tukhugov has been completely cancelled with no word of a future date.

Ontop of the cancellations comes the announcement that Don Madge who’s original opponent, Guram Kutateladze, had pulled out has pulled out himself due to visa issues. Nasrat Haqparast will now take on replacement and undefeated UFC newcomer Rafa Garcia. Garcia is coming off a win in Combate over former UFC vet Humberto Bandenay.

This card has been plagued with cancelletions coming off of a card that seen just one fight fall off for UFC 259. Ontop of the above mentioned cancellations we also lost Dan Ige vs Ryan Hall due to hall injury, Ray Rodriguez needed a new opponent after Irwin Rivera was arrested. Khamzat also informally retired due to corona virus after effects which saw the main event finding a replacement in Belal Muhammad taking on Leon Edwards. Matheus Nicolau takes on Manel Kape as former opponent Tagir Ulanbekov had to pull out and Charles Jourdain takes on replacement Marcello Rojo after Steve Garcia pulled out.

The card at the end of the day has shaped into something promising for hardcore fans. The card now stands as follows heading into weigh ins.
