Conor McGregor tops Forbes highest paid athletes list
Irish superstar Conor McGregor has been declared the world’s highest paid athlete over the last year by Forbes. This list is based on a 12 month period between May 1, 2020 and May 1, 2021. The highest paid athlete list by Forbes is released on an annual basis and is a tradition Forbes has maintained for several years now.
McGregor earned $180 million dollars during this 12 month period, which includes 158 million dollars from endorsements and the sale of his stake in the Proper Twelve whiskey brand.
Forbes says that on the field earnings includes all prize money, salaries, and bonuses during the 12 month period. Off the field earnings are an estimate of sponsorship deals, licensing income, and appearance fees.
