Conor McGregor Donates $500,000 to Boys and Girls Club in Louisiana

Former Champ Champ Conor McGregor made a promise to donate half a million dollars to Dustin Poirier’s Louisiana based charity The Good Fight Foundation. Conor never wound up making that donation to Dustin’s charity, but the Irish superstar just donated $500,000 to the Boys and Girls Club in Louisiana.

The donation went directly to the Boys and Girls Club of Acadiana located in Lafayette, Louisiana, which is an organization the Dustin’s Good Fight Foundation has worked with previously.

The club made an announcement this Monday on Facebook stating: “Boys & Girls Clubs of Acadiana received an unexpected call last week and are humbled to share that Conor McGregor is donating $500,000 to impact youth in South Louisiana by supporting our upcoming 2021 Summer Camp and ongoing health and recreation activities in our 6 Club sites. This investment is a gamechanger! Thank you, Conor, for helping to ensure that our kids have what they need to grow and thrive this summer!”

This donation comes after a public disagreement where Poirier claimed that McGregor failed to deliver on his promise to donate $500,000 to The Good Fight Foundation following their rematch back in January. The alleged reasoning for the failure to deliver on the promise was because there was no adequate plan in place for where the money would be spent. Dustin would eventually go on to express regret for making the private situation a public ordeal.

At the end of the day half a million dollar went to a really great cause in Lafayette, and that’s something everyone can be happy about.
