Brandon Vera Set to Defend ONE Heavyweight Championship on May 15th vs Arjan Bhullar

The ONE Championship heavyweight title will be on the line on May 15th in Singapore, which involves a matchup between champion Brandon Vera and former UFC heavyweight Arjan Bhullar. This is going to be Brandon Vera’s first fight since the Covid-19 pandemic began.

This matchup is going to be Bhullar’s first shot at ONE Championship gold since he joined the promotion back in 2019. Bhullar (10-1) has only had one fight for the promotion, which was a unanimous decision victory over Mauro Cerilli back in October 2019. Bhullar was 4-1 in the UFC before joining the ONE Championship promotion.

Vera (16-8 and 1 NC) had his last appearance on the same card where Bhullar got his debut victory. Vera didn’t have the same success though and suffered a TKO loss to Aung La N Sang in an attempt to become a 2 division champion. Prior to this loss, Vera was riding a four fight win streak, which included him capturing the heavyweight title and successfully defending it twice. Vera’s most recent victory took place in November of 2018 and was a first round TKO victory over Mauro Cerilli.
