Cage FuryFC 92&93 double header

Cage FuryFC 92&93 double header

Cage FuryFC is a top talent producer out of the Northeastern United States with notable fighters such as Jimmie Rivera, Aljamain Sterling, Kimbo Slice, Jared Gordon, Shane Burgos, Paul Felder, Jim Miller and Kaitlyn Chookagian all coming from the premier regional MMA promotion. Suffice to say, its one to keep your eye on with the caliber of talent they’ve produced in their time.

This weekend is no different, a double header ontop of a double header, both events(march 11th and 12th) are hosting two title fights for a total of four title fights in two nights. In Canada this is what we call a “double-double".

CFFC 92 kicks off its double header with Co-Main that would be pleasing to anyone, as we see Saidyokub Kakharamonov(7-2) take on Tycen Lynn(8-4) for the vacant CFFC Bantamweight title. Kakharamonov has seen stiff competition including UFCs Umar Nurmagomedov, hes a tested fighter whos willing to go with the best anywhere which is why Tycen Lynn is across the cage, another fighter whos fought stiff competition. Three of his four losses also come from current UFC talent, including Sean O’Malley and Louis Smolka, showing just how tested both fighters are, the resumes alone show the potential for a promising fight.

The main event sees the newly crowd CFFC Flyweight champion Alberto Trujillo(5-1) defend his belt for the first time against challenger Phumi Nkuta(2-0). Phumi Nkuta is a 2 time amateur champion out of the Longo-Weidman fight camp thats produced UFC champions since its LAW MMA days like Matt Serra, Chris Weidman and now Aljamain Sterling. The pedigree behind Nkuta is huge, he comes from a gym with world class knowledge and a short, but powerful record to boot. The champion Alberto Trujillo is a former Navy Veteran with an incredible all around MMA skillset. In his last fight against former Flyweight champion Santo Curatolo(5-1), Trujillo seemed to not only finish the fight but call his shot via 2nd round knockout in an interview with CFFC. Both of these men are seriously skilled and should produce a major clash thats bound to make waves.

Night number two blessed use with CFFC 93, which includes a co-main event for the vacant heavyweight title between Jamelle Jones(10-6) and Cody Goodall (7-4). Jamelle Jones is an exciting fighter, a former TUF and DWCS contender, with excellent finishing ability. Boasting an 80% finish rate with 7 of his 8 finishes coming in the 1st round, its no holds barred for Jones and when he steps into the cage, fireworks are to be expected. His opponent Cody Goodale has a career that spans back to 2009, with a long layoff from 2011 until 2018 where he returned to M-1 and amassed two victories in a row. He’s a BJJ blackbelt and has the endurance and stamina to wipe you out over fifteen minutes, this should make for an interesting clash of polar opposites and which rises to the occasion.

The CFFC 93 main event is a middleweight Title fight between current champion Colin Huckbody(9-2) and Candian standout Aaron Jeffery(9-2). Both men have competed on DWCS, Jeffery lost his bout against a tough Brendan Allen in 2019, his other loss comes against UFC standout Sean Brady which shows the level of competition Jeffery has been matching up with early in his career. Since then Jeffery has put together and impressive 3-fight finish streak including his most recent promotional headliner at LFA 93. The champion will prove to be no easy task as Huckbody is currently on his very own 6 fight win streak, with the last 4 coming by finish. An impressive 6-0 record spanning back nearly 3 years, with his last being a KO at DWCS. He was offered a UFC contract after the fight but later decided to remain a free agent to develop his skills. With that decision came major changes, he's since parted ways with his old manager and moved from his small Minnesota gym to Arizona's MMA lab, a change he says has brought nothing but confidence. The bout is bound to be an extremely competitive match up with both fighters staking huge win streaks, both with a deep resume and a title on the line are all the items you need to create a great scrap.

This double-double header is certain to entertain even the most casual of fans and could potentially see the emergence of the next UFC talent out of the premier organization.
