Wonderboy vs Kevin Holland Set to Headline Card in Orlando on Dec 3

Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson has been booked to fight Kevin Holland in a welterweight main event on December 3.

The 170 pound bout will take place in Orlando at the Amway Center, and will be a five round fight.

This may come as a surprise to many fans considering that Kevin Holland recently announced he’d be retiring from the sport of MMA. No fans should be complaining that this was a false retirement because this fight, between these high level strikers, is a must watch.

This will be Kevin Holland’s 4th appearance in the UFC cage this year. Holland (23-8) is well known for being one of the most active fighters on the roster.

Holland is currently coming off a short notice loss to UFC hype train Khamzat Chimaev at UFC 279. He was originally supposed to face Daniel Rodriguez, but plans changed due to Khamzats infamous weight miss. Khamzat used superior wrestling to obtain the first round submission victory against Holland. Luckily, wrestling shouldn’t be much of a concern for Holland in this upcoming bout against Wonderboy.

Wonderboy (16-6-1) is a two time title challenger that has never given anyone an easy fight before. The 39 year old fighter is currently ranked 7th in the welterweight division. Thompson had publicly requested that he’d be matchuped with a striking heavy fighter for his next bout, making holland the perfect opponent. Thompson is currently coming off back to back losses against grappling heavy fighters Gilbert Burns and Bella Muhammad back in 2021.
