PFL's 2021 Welterweight Roster
The PFL season starts April 23rd and is being hosted in the Ocean Casino Resort in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The welterweight roster this year is guaranteed to produce some great fights. These fighters on the welterweight roster are:
Nikolai Aleksakhin (24-5-0): The 30 year old fighter is 5’9” in height, has a 74” arm reach, a 37” leg reach, and is from Bryansk, Russia. Nikolai is on a 7 win streak, won his PFL debut in 2019 via 1st round TKO, and has 11 career knockouts.
Ray Cooper III (21-7-1): The 28 year old fighter is 5’7” in height, has a 70” arm reach, a 40” leg reach, and is from Pearl City, Hawaii. Ray is the 2019 PFL Welterweight World Champion, has 14 career knockouts, and has obtained 6 of those knockout victories in the past two PFL seasons.
Aleksei Kunchenko (20-2-0): The 36 year old fighter is 5’8” in height and is fighting out of Yekaterinburg, Russia. Aleksei is a former M-1 Global champion and has obtained 13 knockout victories throughout his career.
Rory MacDonald (21-6-1): The 31 year old fighter is 6’0” in height, has a 76” arm reach, and is from Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Rory is a top 15 welterweight, a former UFC title challenger, and a former Bellator Welterweight Champion. Rory has notable wins over guys like Nate Diaz, B.J. Penn, and Douglas Lima.
Magomed Magomedkerimov (26-5-0): The 31 year old fighter is 6’1” in height, has a 73” arm reach, a 42” leg reach, and is from Makhachkala, Dagestan. Magomed is on an 11 fight win streak, is the 2018 PFL Welterweight World Champion, and Is undefeated in the PFL.
David Michaud (18-6-0): The 32 year old fighter is 5’9” in height, has a 71” arm reach, a 37” leg reach, and is from Pine Ridge, South Dakota. David was the 2019 PFL Welterweight Runner up, has 14 stoppage victories, and 9 of those came by knockout.
Jason Ponet (20-12-1 and 1 No Contest): The 32 year old fighter is 5’11” in height, is fighting out of Bordeaux, France, and is from Cayenne, French Guiana. Jason is currently on a 3 fight win streak and is hoping to expand upon that this season.
Sadibou Sy (8-5-2): The 34 year old fighter is 6’3” in height, has a 80” arm reach, a 47” leg reach, and is from Stockholm, Sweden. Sadibou is a 2018 PFL middleweight semifinalist and is a 2019 PFL welterweight quarterfinalist, who has some of the scariest leg kicks in the PFL.
Gleison Tibau (35-14-0): The 37 year old fighter is 5’10” in height, has a 71” arm reach, and is from Natal, Rio Grande Norte, Brazil. Tibau has oodles of experience against super high level guys such as Rafael dos Anjos, Khabib Nurmagomedov, and Tony Ferguson.
Joao Zeferino (24-9-0): The 35 year old fighter is 5’9” in height, has a 69” arm reach, a 42” leg reach, and is from Florianopolis, Brazil. Joao has the most submission victories in the division with 16 and is undefeated in the PFL.
