PFL 3 Will Be Headlined By Fabricio Werdum and Renan Ferreira

Recently, PFL acquired former UFC heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum who is set to headline week 3 of PFL’s 2021 season against Renan Ferreira on May 6th. This heavyweight bout is part of the heavyweight season that will determine which fighters advance to the playoffs to compete for the title and the $1,000,000 prize.

The last time Werdum (24-9-1) fought was last July, where he obtained a first round submission victory over Alexander Gustaffason at UFC on ESPN 14. After the fight Werdum decided to become a free agent and signed with PFL in November. Ferreira (6-2), who is Werdum’s opponent, is 4-1 in his last five bouts and is coming off a submission win at LFA 74 in August of 2019.

The co main event will feature 2019 PFL women’s lightweight champion Kayla Harrison who is fighting two time gold olympic medalist Mariana Morais. Harrison is looking to keep her 8-0 undefeated streak going and get the win over the olympic medalist. Harrison’s most recent victory was a TKO win over Courtney King at Invicta FC 43, which took place last November.

Mariana Morais (16-10) is currently riding a 3 fight win streak in the Shooto promotion and Is hoping to make it 4 in a row this May. Morais competed twice in 2020, with both bouts happening in the same night on March 1st.

PFL 3 will be aired live on ESPN2 following the prelims on ESPN+, and will be taking place at the Ocean Casino Resort in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
