Donald Cerrone to fight Jim Miller on Short Notice at UFC 276

Donald Cerrone has agreed to step up and have a rematch against Jim Miller at the UFC’s next PPV event on July 2nd.

It’s really not surprising that it didn’t take long for Cowboy to get a fight booking this kind of action is something he’s done his whole career. The two legends will be competing at welterweight, rather than lightweight, which is the weight Jim Miller was initially intending on competing at against his original opponent Bobby Green.

Jim Miller (34-10) is currently riding a 2 fight winning streak with big finish victories over Erick Gonzalez and Nikolas Motta. The 38 year old fighter was most recently seen in the octagon during UFC Fight Night 201, which took place in February.

Cowboy is looking to turn around and get a big win in order to break the longest winless streak he’s ever had. The 39 year old fighter has had 5 losses and 1 no contest in his last 6 bouts. The last time Cowboy got a win in the octagon was before Covid in a dominate display against the now retired Al Iaquinta in a unanimous decision in May of 2019.

Cowboy and Miller last fought each other all the way back in July of 2014, they clashed in the main event of UFC Fight Night 45, which took place in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Their last fight scored Cowboy a post fight bonus award, this was due to Cowboy securing a knockout win from a head kick. It was Cowboy’s 4th straight performance bonus at the time, and his 4th straight win.

The reason for Bobby Green’s withdrawal is currently unknown.
