Cage Warriors triple header - Overview
This coming weekend has a litany of regional promotions that are running in full force, MMA has not been this busy since the beginning of the pandemic. With the usual UFC event on saturday nights the stand-out event for this weekend is the cage warriors third trilogy series in London, Englands York Hall taking place from Thursday, March 18th to Saturday, March 20th.
Cage Warriors 120 on Thursday features a main event between Englishmen as Cage Warriors veteran Jamie Richardson (9-6) welcomes former Bellator contender Kent Kauppinen (12-6). After going 2-3 with Bellator Kauppinen found himself looking for a new home, ulitmately landing in his homeland organization of Cage Warriors. Richardson is coming off a recent loss to middleweight champion Nathias Frederick, setting both men up for a title contending run. The card is stacked with prospects as fan favorites Paul Hughes (6-1) and Will Currie (5-0) join the event.
Cage Warriors 121 hosts two title bouts, a co-main event pegs dominant bantamweight champion Jack Cartwright (9-0) against Polish newcomer Sylwester Miller (9-3). Cartwright has held the title for nearly three years when he won the title in a one night - four man tournament. Cartwright has since been leagues ahead, dominating contenders Manuel Bilic and Gerardo Fanny since.
The main event is a lightweight title bout where newly crowned champion Agy Sardari (12-3) looks to defend his title for the first time against short notice replacement Donovan Desmae (14-5) after stepping in on 10 days noice. The event was originally suppose to host contender Mehdi Ben Lakhdhar (5-0-1) who pulled out due to an undisclosed injury. Also on this card is also former lightweight champion Jack Grant (16-6) after losing a split decision to Sardari in december at cage warriors 119. fan favorite Ian Garry (5-0) makes an appearance, taking on former UFC fighter Rostem Akman (6-2), setting Garry up for a tough, but big night.
Headlining the trilogy event is Cage warriors 122 featuring a featherweight title bout between newly crowned champion Morgan Charriere (16-7-1) seeking his first defense against stand out prospect Jordan Vucenic (7-1). Vucenic is coming off a tremendous showing in his last fight against Paul Hughes where he took the victory in a narrow split decision. Charriere took the title the same night as Sardari at CW 119 from Perry Andre Goodwin with a crippling body shot in the 1st.
On the CW 122 card is rising star Paddy Pimblett (15-3) taking on newcomer Davide Martinez (8-2) in the co-main event. Pimblett (CWFC 10-3) is coming off an astounding 1st round finish against Decky Dalton (11-5) last march. The opener is a pure banger featuring undefeated prospects Nathan Fletcher (4-0) taking on Michele Martignoni (6-0) in a fan filled card.
The triple header is full of promising prospects out of the UK and europe that will not disappoint even the most casual of fans. The cards go as follow:
