First to do it. Jake Paul vs. Ben Askren

The hotly anticipated boxing event which will feature Youtube star Jake Paul taking on former ONE and bellator champion Ben Askren is just a short time away. Triller Fight Club on Monday released details about the April 17th bout including the addition of fans, Triller Fight Club in the release said “a very limited number of fans and guests will be selected to join in the live event, with details to be announced in the coming weeks, and everything will be subject to stringent local, state and federal protocols due to COVID-19.” Thats right, no tickets will be sold and fans will be selected with details to be released in the coming weeks.

Along with that news came the hotly anticipated location, which was to be Mercedes Benz Stadium, home of the Atlanta Falcons, making it the first major Combat sports event with fans in Georgia. The PPV will come off a steep price tag of $49.99 but, with the recent addition of former UFC champion Frank Mir against former light heavyweight and cruiserweight boxing champion Antonio Tarver, its bound to draw in MMA fanatics from around the world.

Jake Paul currently has a 2-0 boxing record after a destructive 2nd round knockout of former NBA star Nate Robinson in November of last year. Prior to that he score a 1st round TKO victory over fellow youtuber AnEsonGib. On the other hand, Ben Askren hasn’t fought since his loss to Damien Maia in November of 2019, and while he holds six TKO finishes, all have come from ground and pound that utilize his wrestling, a clear disadvantage for Askren.

The event is sure to be interesting as mismatches are drawn from all sides. Whats to be entertain, is almost a clear sideshow, but could result in the most dramatic upset in history.
